How to handle automated rejections?

Our organization is wondering how other clients handle automated rejections of candidates?
We have a requirement to send automated notifications to all not qualified candidates 7 days after job posting expires. We are struggling how to design this logic automatically.
We know we can use automated CSP notifications and delay these by 7 days. However, this requires that we implement a manual process to bulk move all not-qualified candidates into Rejected by Employer when the job posting expires. This solution would also show the candidate a "Rejected" status in their profile - before they receive a formal rejection e-mail 7 days later.
