Manager name for the CEO

After promoting an associate to CEO, the former CEO is still seen as his manager

Content

When our previous CEO retired, he was replaced by an associate within the organization that reported directly to the former CEO. I removed the Manager Name from the Manager Details portion of the Assignment Details. Every report I run, still shows the former CEO as the new CEO's manager. How do I make it so that it shows blank, because he doesn't report to any individual?
