Creating a graph of average time in Job

Hi all,

I am working on a couple of reports where I am looking for the Average time a person has stayed in a Job, Grade and Position. Has anyone done this before and can share? 

i am trying to complete this on my own and I am using the below formula. It is working to provide me with the duration between start and end date of an assignment change, however, I am having two issues and would love some ideas on how to fix it:

1. When I add it the column below to the graph it is giving me the sum of all the years and not the average
