How to display preferred name on dashboard

Is it possible for an employee's preferred 'known as' name to appear on the welcome page/dashboard in self service?

I have used Manage Person Name Format to change the Display Name and List Name to the format: Known As_Last Name. This has taken effect and works well in Person Management. However for the employee in self service, the welcome banner ('Good Morning xxxx') is still showing their first name and not their preferred name. I assumed changing the format of Display Name to 'known as' would apply the change to this main dashboard page in self service too. Is there something additional I can do to get the user's preferred name showing there?
