Important question on last Paycheck of 2020

Hi All,

we have a weekly payroll calendar and last 2 paychecks of 2020 has date paid as 12/25 and 01/01 both are holiday.

Now we have an issue here that we have to change the date paid field on the payroll definitions to change it to 12/24 and 12/31.

I have attached the screenshot after modifications.

Now my team is unable to understand few things.

1.if we change last paycheck date paid to 12/31 it would be considered as earnings of 2020 or 2021?

2.As per oracle it is considered as first paycheck of 2021. is this correct?

3.Our Business team is thinking if we change it to 12/31 it will be 2020 earnings and hence pre-tax deductions should not be take since then it will be 53rd deduction of 2020. is this correct.
