Historic Position, Dept, job detail

I have opened an idea ticket, but just checking to see if anyone has figured our how to create a assignment history report that brings in the position, job, dept, etc. data that is actual as of the assignment effective dates. Honestly not sure why this is so hard when the assignment screen has the information but the subject area for position, department, job, etc.. only bring in the current values and not the ones as of the effective date of the assignment history segments. I have been using Assignment Event RT and created some xml codes to try to get this
