Purpose of the “OnMilitaryServiceFlag”

Our HR users have been told that there is a field in the work relationship area called “OnMilitaryServiceFlag” can anyone tell me what it it’s purpose? By this I mean there is a back-end field located called “OnMilitaryServiceFlag” looks to be available to be loaded into.

We cannot see this to be visible anywhere on the front end, so wondering if anybody knows what Oracles intended purpose was for this field (which seems to no longer be there)
