Synchronize rule in Workforce

Hi,

When I am updating the details from "Mass Update"->"Synchronize Definition" the benefits and taxes are calculating correct. But the same data intersection(which is available in that form) if I am updating using ad-hoc grid and running "Synchronize Definition" business rule its not working. Can you please let me know what am I doing wrong here.
