Looking for recommendations and examples of reports for managing HR Help Desk

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for creating reports for HR Help Desk and Service Requests?  We've been able to develop some reports showing statistics for SR's by channel and by queue, but have been unsuccessful using Service Categories.   Any tips/examples would be welcome.  Thank you.
