Workflow approval mapping from Classic UI to Responsive UI

We are working through moving core hr (person management, manager self-service) from the classic pages to the responsive pages. There is a ton of information/office hours out there, but I can't seem to find any documentation on mapping between which workflow approval corresponds to classic pages which would correspond to responsive pages (ie will all workflow approvals need to be recreated/redesigned based on new pages being used)?
A secondary question I have is are there any tips regarding the use of person management. From what I have read, this has already been decommissioned, so are people hiding this option on the navigator or accounting for both quick links and transactions being entered via person management.
