DOR: Approvals not working thru REST API's

Summary:

Hello Team

We have defined approvals for document of records in our system & all approval's are working as expected. When Employee uploads the DOR it goes for Line Manager approval & when Employee Edits the document, it would go for HR specialist. But the same behavior is not working when using REST API's. When uploading the document thru Employee, approval is getting Auto-Approved.

Custom Employee role has the below Rest API's privielges.

Use REST Service - Document Records

Use REST Service - Document Records Read Only

Use REST Service - HR Document Types List of Values

Does DOR approval works thru Rest API's? Do we need to do any additional setup/configuration?
