DOR DFFs are not enabled if Created through Checklist Attachment

We have creates some extra fields for DOR using DFFs, which is working as expected when we add the DOR to an Employee.

We have created a Checklist Task with Attachment linked to this DOR. When we attach a file to the Task the DOR gets created however the DFFs are not enabled when we open the DOR for Edit.

Is this the expected behavior or we missed a setup step?
