OCI - How To Extend a Non-Root Filesystem

Goal:

Explain how to extend a non-root XFS or EXT filesystem that is hosted in a single Storage Volume in one of the below Storage Layouts:

A)  A Filesystem directly on top of a Storage Volume;

B)  A Filesystem on a Partition created in a Storage Volume;

C)  A Filesystem within an LVM directly on top of a Storage Volume;

D)  A Filesystem within an LVM on a Partition created in a Storage Volume.

Applicable Layouts and Required Actions:

The above-referred layouts will produce different outputs form the “lsblk” and “df” commands.
