Need help with CAST formula

Summary:

I have a report using Subject Area Recruiting - Recruiting Real Time. I need to calculate the number of remaining openings (Number of Openings - Hired Count) multiplied by the Work FTE. Work FTE is a text field that I converted to numeric using the CAST function. The formula I'm using does not produce the correct output. I would appreciate any assistance.

Formula:

"Job Requisition - Basic Information"."Number of Openings"-"Job Requisition - Basic Information"."Hired Count" *  CAST("Recruiting - Recruiting Real Time"."Job Requisition - Additional Details"."IRC_REQUISITIONS_DFF_CH_REQ_FTE_" as DOUBLE)
