Describe the /dev/mapper/ocivolume-oled Volume


Solution

The filesystem is part of "Oracle Linux Enhanced Diagnostics".

This includes kernel crash dumps and diagnostic tools that provide information to OCI and Oracle Linux Support when issues arise.

The volume exists due to high customer demand for diagnostic support services. It ensures that space is reserved for that diagnostic data, so that they can still be captured even if the root filesystem is full. Most frequently, customers create larger boot volumes if they need more space on the root partition.
