Increasing character limit on the comments field in manager transactions

I need to increase the character limit in the Comments field on approvals for things like Change Assignment, Change Working Hours, Manage Individual Compensation

Content (required):

When submitting a request for approval as a line manager, I need to give a justification to the approvers as to why I am submitting said change. I can of course upload an attachment but the comments box is ideal for a short description. However, the limit of 500 characters is too small.
