Rehire issue - error received in our integrated solution

Trying to rehire an employee, however receiving the error No Primary Assignment Exists during the date range of the non primary assignment

We have a number of employees in our organisation who have been rehired and terminated multiple times.  We have a few cases recently where they have been rehired in HCM without error into a new legal entity however error in our intergrated solution to Oracle E-business.  The error received is No Primary Assignment Exists during date range of the Non-Primary Assignment.

So my question is, do all of the termination dates of the various assignments completed need to be the same before you can rehire without error?
