Summary:

Guidance to ensure that Market Data reports return data when Global HR dimensions are used.

Content (required):

1- Subject Area: "Compensation - Market Data Real Time" ;

2- Error: No Data Found [ no data returned in OTBI report ] ;


3- Symptoms:

3.a) Report uses Global HR dimension columns [such as "Business Unit" , "Department" , "Job" , "Location" , "Grade" etc] ;

3.b) Report returns data when Global HR dimension columns are removed ;

3.c) Nqquery.log does not have (1=2) inside any Physical_SQL ;


4- Root_Cause: There is no "matching" Employee E1 (Job=J1 or Position=P1 and Location=L1) that matches with a Market_Survey_Data M1 (SurveyJob aligned with J1/P1 and SurveyLocation aligned with L1). Due to this "missing employee / missing assignment", linking from market_data fact to Global HR dimensions fails and hence no data is returned. This is expected behavior.
