Is it possible to default the Requester field of a new invoice to the currently logged in user?

We would like to know if there is a method to auto-populate the Requester field of a new invoice

Content (required):

In order to help us filter and organize invoices we would like to default he Requester field to the currently logged-in user. As far as I am aware the Autocomplete feature does not extend to this area yet but I wondered if there was another method to this.
