report formatting question

looking for help on report formatting with $ on first and last line but left justified

looking for help on the best way to format reports so the first and last lines of report (or maybe some in between as well) have the $ left justified the spaces before the amounts which are right justified - pic attached to show what I mean. I've inserted an extra column with just the $ where it's needed, but if that row is a dynamic member (i.e. children of current assets, then the $ shows up on all of those rows. Just seeing if anyone has any great ideas
