Opportunity Marketplace - usefulness of update interests section

Hi community,

I want to understand better what is Update Interests section in Opportunity Marketplace useful to. I mean, when I save some interests by inserting for example specific organization and job family, the list of jobs visible are not filtered showing only jobs with the specific organization and job family that I have inserted in the Update Interests section. Is this the correct functioning? What is this section useful to?
