Report for Changes Only

Summary:

We are currently not able to pull out a report with the last change done for a person in the system.

Content (required):

We have multiple reports in Oracle based on the ‘effective date’ to show what is effective in each moment in terms of employment, salaries, personal data, etc. – and that’s OK.

We have also some reports that we have built based on the so-called ‘last update date’ to show the changes that occurred (were maintained) in a certain period (no matter if it is effective in the past or in the future). And here comes the challenge. Technically what the system does is to create a new row for the employee and then close the existing one (i.e., add a end date to the previous row of the profile), meaning that the actual last action that the system does is to end date the previous row.
