Logic Behind Calculated Fields

Trying to find the actual logic behind calculated fields in OTBI

We are trying to find the actual logic for calculated fields in OTBI.  Some are self-explanatory, but others are more complex. Is there any way to see the actual logic behind the calculation to make sure it is pulling the correct data (we think we may have found an error, but are having difficulty proving our theory)?  The formula for the field is not helpful.
