BIP reports emailed securely from HCM (by default)?

Content (required):

We are scheduling a new BIP report to go to internal users and external (outside the company) recipients. Are BIP reports sent through the HCM scheduler automatically sent securely? We are concerned about the report going outside the company being sent securely.

If the reports are not sent securely by default, is there a recommendation for setting this up? We only have email addresses for the recipients, so transferring the report via FTP is not an option for this project. Thank you
