Goal
This document details what system data is stored in the cloud for OS Management Hub (OSMH).
Background
For On-premise customers using OS Management Hub register Management Stations and Oracle Linux instances with the service. A common question from customers is what information about their on-prem systems is stored in the Oracle Cloud. The customer sensitivity is to information not expressly configured in the service.
Solution
Managed Instances
- Hostname
- OS vendor, version, and architecture
- Inventory of installed packages
Software sources (repos) assigned to the instance
- This is a reflection of the registration profile or changes made after registration by an administrator
