Assign a salary predefinied

Hello friends,

We need to know how assign a salary predefinied to my employee, i understand that the grade ladder contains a rate with values in all steps of the grade and this is assign to salary basis but when i try search the rate in the salary basis this is not appearing.

somebody can help me or explain to me how work together?
