How to add AOR to Rehired assignment with the same Responsibility Name as terminated employee.

Summary: An Employee has multiple assignment after termination and Rehired. Assignment 1 has AOR's allocated with unique Responsibility name's when terminated. Once the candidate is rehired assignment 2 should retain the same AOR with same Responsibility name's as termination. But system is not allowing. Is there a way to accomplish this as it is customer requirement.
