Submitting Date in MM-DD-YYYY format

I am trying to submit date in MM-DD-YYYY format using Smart view ad hoc grid but it changes back to DD-MM-YYYY format.

I tried to change date settings under user preferences and applications settings but no luck.

Kindly advice.
