Is Project Assets Really Necessary for How We Use Oracle?

For a low-tech configuration of Project Costing, is there any useful functionality lost if we stop creating project assets in the Projects module and instead manually create the assets in the Fixed Assets module to save staff time?

We use the Project Costing module basically only to gather costs for reporting and to capitalize assets. We have found the process to create Project Assets and generate asset lines to send to Fixed Assets cumbersome as there is often a few asset lines that result in errors every month and not great reporting to investigate where the error is. With the Fixed Assets module having such a robust upload function where attributes such as invoice number, project information, or other information can be included in the upload and attached to the asset, we are struggling to think of a
