Creating Role with organization list

Summary:

Hi all,

I would need a clarification regarding Roles. In creating Roles for a customer we have associated in Organization list only the name of Legal Entity and we expected that by creating an organization security profile with organization list based on legal entity, then Business Unite and Department will be associated automatically. Is it correct instead for the field to remain blank with no values?
