Need to delete specific update records from the history of position definitions

We have several updates on the position definitions and we need to delete some of those updates from the position definition history, not the position record itself.

For example on the position history:

Grade Change 10.09.2023 -- to be deleted

Created date 01.01.2023

We've prepared such an HDL, Position.dat:

SET PURGE_FUTURE_CHANGES Y

METADATA|Position|BusinessUnitName|PositionCode|EffectiveStartDate|EffectiveEndDate

DELETE|Position|BU Name|Pos Code|2023/09/10|4712/12/31

But this is trying to delete the position record at all, which we don't want:

You can't delete this position because it's referenced by an incumbent or by a profile.
