Hiding salary details of direct reportees for a line manager

Summary:

Hi Experts!,

We had a requirement to hide the salary details of the Employees for the line managers who belongs to certain legal entites. Does anybody have any inputs on how to achieve the same. Basically, Line managers belonging to say Legal Employer 'X' should not be able to view their direct reportees salary. Any idea is welcomed.
