Employee is unable to put resignation when is he/she is transferred on Global temporary assignment

We have below scenario:

Employee has transferred from US Entity to India on Temporary basis i.e Global temporary assignment action. Now that an employee is trying to put resignation in the system and system is not allowed to put resignation, showing error as “You have more than 1 active work relationship with the organization. 

Is there any ways in which employee can initiate resignation when he/she is on Global Temporary assignment?
