Alerts Composer role expression

Hello, does anyone know if we can write conditional expressions in the Templates>Recipients section of Alerts Composer? I have a requirement to send an alert to people with a specific role, based on the Business Unit of users who have been terminated. E.g. user in "Business Unit A" is terminated, so alert goes to all users with "Role A". Or user in "Business Unit B" is terminated, so alert goes to all users with "Role B".

I know we can use the AOR based recipients for similar purposes, but that doesn't work for our build.
