How to receive an email if business rule fails within ruleset/how to have the entire ruleset fail

when a business rule set runs, one of the jobs failed not able to load data from one cube to another.
no email was sent and business rule continued next step, even though previous step had a failure.
Job details show all jobs successful, even though one job did fail.
