States dropdown of US in the address is appearing as 2 digit code for some and full name for some?

This is a new environment where we had enabled the geographies and then made the State as a list of values.

What I can see is that some states are appearing as AK, some as American samoa etc. How can I rectify it and we only need the 50 states not the US overseas territory for our client.

FYI, the primary LDG for this company is Non US and it has branches in USA too
