Multiple Career Sites With One Vanity URL

Oracle states that when a Vanity URL is implemented, it will be used across all career sites. The difference between the two career sites will be the career site code. For example:

vanityurl.com/careersitecode1

vanityurl.com/careersitecode2

However, what happens when a user just types in "vanityurl.com" into the URL? How will the website domain know which career site to route the end user to?
