How to create drop down list for candidates to select their Suffix from a LOV

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Create lookup type under - Setup and Maintenance > Manage Common Lookups to include Jr., Sr. etc.

This works as expected on the Employee/Person side and the LOV is displayed to select a value:

However, when a candidate applies or is manually added, the drop down isn't showing. How do I connect the lookup values to also to the candidate/recruiting module?

As shown below - Suffix is displayed as a free-text box.
