I need to perform a Global Transfer to a new LE but the position isn't in LOV

Summary:

I suspect the reason is because the position is against a BU used in source LE and not destination LE.
How to get around this as the position is Single Incumbent and needs to move with the employee?
When attempting to change the BU on the position in Position Details, I get

You can't update the business unit for the position with the code 200840 because an incumbent exists today or in future. (PER-1531946)

Even though it's from the date of the Global Transfer.

How to get around this?
