Tracking referrals after they apply in ORC

Summary:

Has anyone come up with a way to mark candidates as referrals AFTER they applied? We are constanstly struggling with people not generating the referral links and our recruiters being asked to mark candidates as referrals after they've already applied. I tried editing the sources but I am limited to what I can do. We need to be able to track the source as Referral and then have a field to track the name of the person who made the rerferral. It seems that source editing is limited depending on the source medium. Thanks!
