Hiring Status under Position

Summary:

Hi all,

Could you clarify the meaning of the "hiring status"? I set the hiring status for a new position to "frozen" and then reassigned an employee to this position without encountering any error messages. Why does this status exist if it doesn't prevent assignments?

As I understand, there should be no recruiting for positions with this hiring status.

In the HCM Design Studio it is a mandatory field that I cannot make invisible. But why??
