Want to use legal name instead of preferred name in alerts composer

Summary:

Currently customer's alerts composer is using Display Name. The system is set up to have Display Name be preferred name. Client wants to use legal name in one of the alerts that we are customizing. What is the correct function to use for returning the employee's legal name?
