visitor profile

Hi,
I have a question about segmentation using ”has visitor Profile” filter criteria.
I’d like to segment only those contacts that have a cookie associated with them. If I use this criteria for segmentation, and if a contact has been tied to a cookie at least once in the past, will they continue to be counted as a contact with a cookie even if the cookie has now in reality expired?
