Restrict DFF from duplicate entries

We have a new requirement to avoid duplicate entries in a DFF.

SCENARIO:

We have created a DFF named "ENTRY NUMBER" in the Create receipt page to capture clients PO item's receiving number in their organization.
The client wants that field to display an error message if repeated values are entered.

Is there any possible functionality to restrict duplicate values in DFF.
