Do we need to recreate the existing Time Layouts after enabling Unified Time Layout

We are working on the transition to redwood timecards and are hoping to move to unified layouts as well .
We enabled Unified Time layouts .The new unified layout is not applied to the existing Time layouts.
Do we need any setup to apply unified layout to the existing Time layouts?
or Do we need to recreate the existing Time Layout?
