Does the GL period have to be open to run Receipt Accounting?

Customer's GL period was Future Enterable. When we ran Receipt Accounting Distributions, we received errors. We researched to see if the GL period must be open and found 2 SR's that indicated to open the GL period. We were able to successfully run the Cost Accounting Distributions (with the GL period as Future Enterable), but not the Receipt Accounting. Must the GL period be open to run Receipt Accounting Distributions?
