Learning initiative to allow completed learners to test out of course on future attempts

Could anyone advise on the best way to set up these course assignments please?

Current set up

We currently assign self-paced online mandatory training courses via learning initiatives, which are driven by analysis reports.

Learners are assigned courses if they meet certain criteria, they complete the courses, and the courses are set up with renewals so that the learners are automatically re-assigned these courses on an ongoing basis.

The courses themselves are built using Articulate 360 - course navigation is locked so that learners must review the training materials and then pass a test at the end of the course to complete the course.
