How to create an approval while raising HR Help Desk Request?

As per the standard functionality, when an HR Help Desk request is submitted, the system creates a new request in the application. Our requirement is to configure an approval process, ensure that the HR Help Desk request is sent for approval before the request is created in the system.

Is there any feasibility to configure the approvals in HR Help Desk or any workaround for the requirement mentioned above?
