Hide/remove fields for specific countries using EL expression

Hello -

We need to hide/remove the following fields for employees outside of the US in the Family and Emergency Contacts task:

• Gender
• Date of Birth
• What's the start date of this relationship?

We attempted to use rules through Design Studio, but the fields are still visible. We also tried specific EL expressions, but these removed the fields even for employees in the US.

Is there an EL expression that we could use to successfully hide/remove these fields?
