Worker number required?
Summary:
We are considering using the worker number to store numbers for a legacy system (next to external identifiers), as you can't search based on an external identifier while -in some pages- you can search based on a worker number.
However, the docs state the following:
"When You Enable Worker Numbers
Worker numbers become mandatory in all employee and contingent worker work relationships. If you enable the worker number at both the enterprise and legal employer levels, then the setting at the legal employer takes precedence.
"
We haven't seen the requirement of worker numbers of all being imposed yet, but since we don't have this number for all workers (we only have it for employees, not for contingent workers), we need to be absolutely sure that the worker number won't become required for all. Anybody having experience with this? Any thoughts from Oracle Product Management Team?
